This is a short book filled with hilarious stories on breakups which most people can relate to. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good laugh.
Set in the WWI era, the story centers on Sister Annie, a nurse who gets infected while treating a patient with dysentery. The story follows the bacteria as they course through her body.
This Invisible War—with black and white illustrations—is an interesting blend of history and science. It is informative and provides important insights into WWI and the horrors of dysentery. The second part of the book contains further explanations of the diseases, including mental and emotional trauma some soldiers experienced. It also contains some interesting facts about WWI. Would recommend this book to anyone interested in history or science.
A Real Job is an interesting graphic book where the main character moves to Berlin to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a graphic artist and producing his own novel. The illustrations are beautiful, the characters are fun and enjoyable.
Dodin-Bouffant: Gourmet Extraordinaire is an absolute delight. The book was an easy read and the art was beautiful. I enjoyed the setting, the characters and the mouth-watering illustrations of the food. I highly recommend to foodies and comic lovers.
A Hundred Kisses Before Bedtime is a sweet picture book about a chick that goes around giving other animals goodnight kisses.
The simple one-dimensional illustrations complement this story well. Suitable to be read to kids at bedtime.
This is the 2nd volume of The Wormworld Saga.
Raya and Jonas are on a quest to defeat the fire god, Unurtha and save Wormworld. I loved the atmosphere and the scenery while Raya and Jonas were aboard the transport ship.
I thought the gorgeous illustrations of this fantasy world of Jonas and Raya were beautifully rendered. The sunlight filtering through windows, the lush forests and jungles, and stunning vistas easily transport you to this world. Looking forward to the next volume.
At the end of this book, the author includes detailed notes on how he created his subjects and the concepts he employs in rendering his images. Also included are short and interesting stories behind the drawings in Janaka’s mandala.
An interesting graphic novel with beautiful illustrations.
The central character in this story is a man named Theodore Poussin who works for a shipping company. One day his boss calls him into his office and announces that he will be embarking on a journey to French Indochina.
The story that follows depicts his adventures during his travels. I enjoyed the story and I really like the style of the illustrations which complemented the story well. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of this series. Highly recommend.
